Help with nonstandard layout scenario, and excluding one page from template switcher Hi there,
I'd really appreciate some help with this scenario, so I'll try and outline the problem clearly.
I have a site under development (Mambo 4.51) that has two layouts. "Layout 1" is used for the main page (a hybrid flash/html page), which is not actually the standard mambo home page, it is just a content item that I link from a basic html splash page and have assigned to a specific template in my templates folder that has a particular layout. This layout has a hardcoded flash file where the mainbody code would normally be on the other "layout 2" (there is no mainbody code on "layout 1").
"Layout 2" is a standard layout that I use for all the content on the rest of the site, and this will work with any of the other templates in my templates folder, which are all just basically color variations.
I would like to make use of the template switcher for everything but the "Layout 1" page, and this works as it should thoroughout the site, except for the page which "Layout 1" is set for.
So basically as soon as you use the template switcher, it breaks the assignment of "Layout 1" to the template it was assigned to sitewide, and returns a "page does not exist" error when you try and go back to that page.
I am wondering if I can detach my "Layout 1" main page from the effects of the template switcher?
I also realize that it is not ideal in this situation to use a linked content item as my main page, rather than just having the index.php file bring it up, but I couldn't really think of another way to do it.
I would post a link if I wasn't restricted by the client, but hopefully I've explained it somewhat clearly. Part of the problem lies in the amount of hybrid flash integration on the "Layout 1" page, so there were some workarounds with the Mambo setup, replacing 'mainbody' with a flash file while keeping the mambo menu intact etc.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
Cheers,
