publisher can't publish? hello all.
I've got everything installed and ready to go, and am now beginning to learn how the frontend users work. I'm stuck on a couple of issues.
1. Isn't a "publisher" allowed to publish directly to the site?
I've created a publisher user and have logged in with it. I'm able to submit a news item, but then I get a page saying "your item has been submitted and is awaiting approval". Isn't the whole point of being a "publisher" to be able to create content WITHOUT getting approval?
2. Hand in hand with the above question. When an editor or author adds or makes changes to a news item, who has to publish it?
I logged in with as an editor and created a couple of news items. Then got the page saying the items were awaiting approval (this, I expected). Then I logged in as a publisher, and the first thing I saw was the item submitted by the editor. There were no links allowing me to "approve" or "publish" this item, simply a link for "next" which took me to the site homepage. Can only back-end users approve content for publishing?
3. Also, I've looked at the whole "allowing an editor priviledges to post of only one category/section of the site". I'd like to be able to do this, and I see that someone recently created a hack for it, but let me ask you this. The manual says that an "author" has the ability to publish and edit ONLY his items. Couldn't I just make all the items in "johns" section to show that he is the creator. Wouldn't that give him access to ONLY those items?
Thanks guys,
