I think I have almost the same problem. I want to create a new module and paste the following php code into it(editor is turned off):

This should show the users IP in the module.

PHP Code:
$ip ="$REMOTE_ADDR"
PHP Code:
echo "Your IP: $ip"
but the code does not want to execute.

Can anybody help I'm on Mambo 4.5.2.2

Maybe this will work for you:
http://www.mamboportal.com/content/view/1715/43/

It works out fine for Javascript and HTML code. So why not for PHP?
