Default Move entire site?

ok here goes...

I have a live site running on 4.5.1.0.9(I know... Im trying ).

I have a test site that I designed in 4.5.1a.

I want the live sites info and databases to be ported over to the test sites directory to work out any bugs or inconsistancies prior to public release.

I then want to move the test site to become my main site.

I am having difficulty with the dbadmin tool as I cannot restore the livesite database on my test site.

How do I fix this or get around it?

Is there any way to move all modules, components, Images, content and databases from one install to the other? If so then how?

I have been touting a re-release of my site scheduled for 1-1-05 on my live site for a couple of weeks... please help me resolve this issue asap.

Thanks,

-Steve-

I'm having the same problem with 4.5.1a. Can anyone please make a suggestion on how to restore the backup?

Thanks
Ramon

Well no response is leading me to get even more specific in the hopes that you will care enough to help.

I have my test site setup completely. www.mysite.com/test

I have my live site also set up on an older version of mambo. www.mysite.com

I want to completely delete my live site and all components, modules and such and only have the data(news, articles, faq's etc) and user info.

now from my new site I want all of the layout, templates, components, modules as well as the new news and articles i have written for it to become my new live site

I then want to restore or add my user database and data from my live site to my new live site

What will I be able to do to prevent from having all of the links messed up?

And I'd like some fries with that order.... lol. jk.

Now can someone please take a few to assist me with this??? I do post help for others on here but my knowledge base is limited at this time so help me to help you help others.

Thanks.

know that you have to drop(delete) whatever table your trying to restore befor restoring it.

is it a complete db backup or just something specific like the mos_stats_agent?

If its a complete db then you should select all and drop them. Another page will ask if you want to dropm them all... say ok

then go to sql and browse for your db .sql file... select it... click go... it will give you a message as to whether or not it was done successfully.
