Default Using wrapper as a content item?

Hi,

I'm using Mambo 4.5.1.

I have some scripts (tools) that I want to put on my website in a content section called 'Tools'.

I've tried using the wrapper function to add content but this does not solve my problem. From what I can tell the wrapper function can only be used on a menu item. It's fine if I want to contain a link from my main menu but I have many pages to add and don't want my menu cluttered with all these links. I'd rather just have these a category called 'Tools' and then have all the tools listed there, each on a separate page and each contained in a wrapper.

Hope this makes sense. Anyone know a fix to this without manually creating an iframe in the content? For example, I see how I could create a category>item and then just include an iframe containing the content, but it would seem that there'd be a more simple solution...

Thanks in advance...

What you could do is create a new menu "Menu"->"Menu Manager"->"New" then add the wrapper content to that menu.

What you then do is create a module for your new menu and just make sure it's not published, meaning users won't see it.

I had to do the same thing for some tricky "pathway" issues for a client, I don't see why it wouldn't work in this case. Either way, it should be worth a try

Thanks for the help calis!

Unfortunately that doesn't really solve my problem. My problem is not so much that I don't want the item displayed in the menu, but that I want the page to show up in my section category list (Tools) to be included with multiple other pages listed there.

Right now the way it is, it can only be viewed by clicking on a link from the menu which degrades the organization of the site.

Since it is in a wrapper there seems to be no way to include the page as a section category item. I suppose I could solve this with an iframe but I was looking for something more suitable...

Thanks in advance. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

maybe you could solve it with a mambot. Create the category-content you want and place in the "wrapper-content" a mambot which redirects to the wrapped page/link.
