I want to customize the Events component but am not sure where to start.

I want to display events (shows) from all over the world so I've got categories like 'UK Shows', 'US Shows' etc which I'm not too happy with as it doesn't really narrow it down far enough. For example if somebody selected the category 'UK Show's they would get 100's of shows and most of them would be irrelevant.

I need a simple way to allow users to instantly see events in there area. One of my ideas was to have links across the top that would call the search feature with prefigured search terms in the url but as it appears the search works on 'post' and not 'get' I can't use the url to pass variables. Also this isn't an ideal solution as it would become useless as the events grew and I started to list shows in hundreds of areas around the world.

I'm at a loss as to where to start on this one so I'd appreciate any help or advice from more skilled Mambers!

Hiya

I would also be extremely interested in having some customisations done to the event calendar, which would include a geographical component as you've discussed. Keen to combine efforts and $. Have you progressed with anyone re: developments?
