Default Hide item's title (for frontpage-items)

Hi,

I am not sure if this is a bug or if I got the wrong idea about the feature...

What I want to achieve is to display a content-item without its title. So, in 'Parameter control', I configured 'Page Title' to 'Hide' - but still the title shows up...

edit: hiding the title works fine for "normal" items, but I can't get rid of the title for frontpage-items - yet I would really like to do so...

Tx for any comments & help

Michael

Have you looked in "Components - Frontpage - settings" ? Try erasing Header text under "parameters" tab.

Tx for the suggestion, but unfortunately I could not find that in the menu - probably that has been placed elsewhere in 4.5.1... (I think I checked all relevant menus, but I could not find an entry that looked as if it would fit the bill here...)

I'm sorry I answered a question of v. 4.5.1 with only the knowledge of 4.5... In the manual for the new version of mambo (Mambo documentation ) I read (p. 32 under bundled components):
Quote:
Select Components > FrontPage from the menu. This page shows you a list of the content items marked for the front page.
...
Configuring the Frontpage
You may configure the display of the Frontpage by editting the menu item associated with it. You may configure:
...
· the text to display as a header to all the of displayed Items

So I guess there should be a way of erasing this even in 4.5.1.

Hi SUnflower,

tx - but either the doc does not correspond to the actual program or my installation is corrupt. But in the "Components" menu I do not find a "Frontpage"-component

There is a "Frontpage-Manager", but that only allows me to enable/disable items, I found no way to configure params there. Of course the specific content-item I choose to display on fp has a parameters menu, but there I already disabled the item-title...

Tx

Michael

Go to Menu => Main menu => Home => Parameters => Page Title and click "Hide".
Should work...

Thanks sunflower, that did it. Actually in that screen although for the individual item it was set to 'Hide', I still had the global setting to 'Yes'. Now it's perfect, the site is getting better and better, hopefully soon I'll be ready for showtime

everyone know's about going to the menu then home parameters to hide the titles of articles, but what if one doesn't want to hide all titles just individual ones...why doesn't that parameter work when clicking on hide on the individual story?
