Hello.
I am in the process of creating a local rock band community and can't find anything that fills my requirements, so I started building my own Mambo Component that will:

Store General Band info:
Name, Location, Genre, Bio, Webpage, Email and a Main Picture.

Create a directory for each band (I plan to give a subdomain to each band in my site)

Relate community users to a band if they are in it.

Let users register bands, Upload/Manage Songs , cds, band picture galleries.

Let visitors write comments to the bands.

use a flash mp3 player to play bands' music.

Let users create and manage playlists as they like

Have a Concerts/Events calendar closely related to the bands database (Bands at a gig, band confirms gig, band cancels gig).

I might be forgeting some, but i guess you have the idea.
It is too much work to have all that features, So I will be working on versions, starting from the most basicly needed features, and then make it grow.

I am working on my own. This is my first mambo component so I am very excited. I will accept comments and/or suggestions about this work that -hopefully- will be released soon for free for all the people who wants/need it

thanks for the link, eyezberg, but i am going to make it from scratch only because I want. This is my first Mambo Project. ArtistAvenue is not exactly what I need.

im working on getting an artist lookup site up too

one suggestion..would be to set up a window somewhere for entering some html code that could be a header with pictures and text to the search button...

this way you could add in a search partition into a webpage already created with information about the search engine

Hey El Jero, where are you from? your english is very good, not as mine.

Well, looks like a very ver nice project, im testing it now but i didnt understand how the cd reviews works. Looks like you need to register a band first with all the features and then create the cd review. Two things, i cant create a cd review without create the band profile and when ill create a cd review, dont have any place when post the review.

It will be very fine, if you try to separate these attributes ( like separate the cd review and artist area) to you create an artist page and then link it with the review and the other features, or vice versa.

Im trying to work in a complete independent music guide who browse by categories as bands, labels, promoters, venues distros an other features. My problem is i dont know a lot of php programing like a complete programer.

Im trying to find some modules / components, one who can let me post CD reviews, other who can let me post "bands of the week or month" and other as "CD of the week" as a modules. If any can cooperate please let me know.
