Angry does ANY gallery module actually work within mambo?

I need users to upload images to the site.

I need a way of linking those images to blogs.

I have installed coppermine and gallery (menalto) to my localhost and neither work properly through mambo 4.5.2.

I have simple machines forums working through mambo and would like to have a gallery component with the above functionality.

I do have coppermine using the bridge to simple machines forum and that uses mos_ prefix for database table (so they all use the same user table-no separate logins.)

I would love to have a more integrated solution such as menaltos IF it were working, I read a lot of posts which have the same problem as me, a pop up occurs and error is as follows...

init.php: Gallery seems to be inside Mambo, but we couldn't get the necessary info
...

I have tried zoom also ! and this has error messages as well.

is it my version of mambo?

Thanks for comments.

RS Gallery like AKO gallery allows no user upload functionality.

I've installed Zoom gallery on my localhost machine and it works. Use the latest version or else you'll get sql errors.

I use Menalto Gallery. It works great.

If something like that is what you want to set up, it's really simply. Install Menalto Gallery first. Link with the Mambo Gallery linker. Easy as pie.

If you need help, just ask.

Hi dennis

thanks for the reply, I got coppermine working as a wrapped element now but would use something different if I could say use images a particular user uploaded next time they logged in.

I ilke the journal you have used and this is the next step for me. Could you let me know what it is.

I dont seem to have a blogger available as with standard mambo install, so im looking for a component. Ive tried eWriting but its more for stories.

thanks for your help.

The linkage thing you talked about isnt widely know in any forum I found. What does it do in mambo, and where can i find it.

cheers

Currently I am using ponygallery due to needing the batch upload feature. I was used to Arthur's ako version 2 with the batch upload added on and that is the main feature I needed going forward with 451 and ^

Hope you find what works for you.

Check out www.boisevenue.com and see how I use my gallery thing on older 4.5.0(1.0.9) - if you have more questions post and if I know I'll answer.

I do batch uploading with the Gallery Remote tool. Windows API for connecting to Galleries. Neat stuff. Also free!

Mojito.. go to http://gallery.menalto.com

That has the gallery I use.

Also, do a search for "mambo gallery link". That's how I got it.
