Question Several questions & problems RE Mambo 4.5.2 + addons

To the general Mambo community, and especially all of you hardworking Mambo and Mambo-CMT developers, Greetings!

We're having several problems & questions about Mambo and third-party addons.

Here's the website I'm discussing in this post:
http://www.blackcatplanet.com

We're currently running Mambo 4.5.2 and several components, which I will list below. I'll also list questions we have, and problems/bugs we are running into. Any help with any of these issues and questions would really be most appreciated. We have been learning a great deal, but we are a few months overdue now for opening up for business, and we really need to speed up the learning curve! Much thanks in advance for your time and prompt response(s).

Okay, here goes....

************************************************** ********
Currently Installed Components (and any known problems or bugs with them):

mambo-phpshop v1.2 - (not the ecommerce package release, it was a component installed separately onto Mambo 4.5.1a before we upgraded mambo) I believe it's the latest beta, have to ask my developer

1) Our CSV exports a blank file with nothing in it, even though we have about 50 products that show on the shop fine

2) In the category list view, my categories all show "0 products" even though we have 50 products or so

3) Coupon amount is not deducted from total while checking out, even though the coupon discount amount shows on the screen.

4) While trying to save settings in the UPS Shipping Module, this message is generated:

ERROR
Function Not Registered
shippingmethodSave is not a valid MOS_com_phpShop function.

and we can not get the UPS module to work.

5) We would love to be able to calculate shipping properly for our drop shippers, but it seems the best option would have been to use the UPS module, and since we can't do that currently we've almost given up on the idea of being able to charge accurately for shipping, and attempting simply to charge more for everything and tell everyone free shipping to the continental US. This is not an ideal option, but we are up against a wall trying to decide what the best course of action is. Anyone have any ideas?

6) While using Community Builder and Simpleboard, what happens with the users? I need them to be able to log in to everything with the same login and not have to register multiple times. I noticed you switched to SMF; we are using Simpleboard currently but would be happy with SMF if it met our needs. How could a user be automatically registered to both when registering?

7) I saw in a forum posting that Soeren said that putting items in more than two categories would be an unlikely feature as adding even one extra category was very difficult to do. Is this so? Why then would it not say that next to the category selection area, where it says to CTRL-click to select multiple categories? If this is so, maybe that is why I am getting strange errors, because we have many products listed in many categories. What should we do about this?

8) I have many more products to be input, but I don't know if we should scratch this install of phpshop and start over, or what. We have Mambo 4.5.2 running with phpshop 1.2 - couldn't be the stable release though as we installed it over a month ago. My admin installed it separately over Mambo 4.5.1a I think, it was before Soeren had come out with the ecommerce packaged one. We're wondering if we should simply wipe out the old and start fresh with the ecommerce release, and try to install CB and the other stuff over that...? Or try to fix this screwy buggy install and upgrade from there?

9) How to have an email automatically generated to my multiple vendors with shipping information and the item(s) purchased when I receive an order? I know that phpshop does not allow for drop-shippers, but I'd be willing to pay for this functionality. (auto emails, shipping calculated by vendor address->shipping address which would be set at product level or vendor level)

10) When logging out and logging back in, cart contents are not saved. Big problem! No one wants to shop all over again...I'd leave my site and go somewhere else!

11) Is there any way to allow a "fast checkout" for people who are leery of registering who just want to make a purchase? We can't seem to find anything like this.

12) random products module does not display in multiple column layout, only one long column of products - need to change to three column layout like category browse flypage
*I posted the previous info regarding phpshop to Soeren's page also, at mambo-phpshop.net*

CafePress component v2.0 (very much on the search for 2.1; the component works but the links for "Additional Photos" are pointing locally - we need to add "http://www.cafepress.com" to the src link and haven't been able to find the command file to change it; also we can't change the .gif for the add to cart button to match the one for phpshop. (We have uploaded our version but the image seems to point to/come from cafepress.com) We have posted to forums and emailed the component author but have had no success with a response.

Yanc (newsletter) v1.4 (subscribe area has typos/mistakes in some of the error messages; can be seen by users when they get an error message)

Other components (not really having any major problems with these):
Community Builder 1.0 beta4, SimpleBoard forum 1.0.4-Beta2, MyPMSII v2.0beta, AkoComment v2.0, Mambo Flash Games v0.1

************************************************** *********

Once again your time, energy, and help are appreciated!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!

Default Re: Several questions & problems RE Mambo 4.5.2 + addons

I think, considering your most important points and most questions relate to phpShop, your best bet is to post right on the development site's forums. Sorry not to be of more help, I don't use this (also never used cafepress, what's the link to the component ?)
