Angry Mambo and Google

Hello everyone:

There is something peculiar about Mambo and Google. I have noticed through my experience with many Mambo sites that Google refuses to index Mambo. No matter what I did (turned on SEF that comes built into mambo, used different page titles, etc...), still Google acts as if the sites do not even exist. I have searched through the forums here and in mamboserver, and followed whatever recommendations I could find. Still, no sucess. Notice that the same sites are within the top 5 or 10 under Yahoo or other engines. This is based on my experience with many Mambo sites. There must be something particular to mambo that is scaring off Google robots.

Any ideas?

this is not true.
google indexed my site, and is visiting frequently.
I even use a mambot to highlight search terms from google,
and to track what search terms people used to get to my site.

Can you provide a link to the site indexed by Google?

Also what mambot are you using to track seach engines?

Thanks!

Think you have another issue here.

We have never submitted our web site to Google but are number 1 or 2 for our keywords even in google.com when we are in Australia.

Given your site is in Arabic I'm not much help there but you could start with the following.

Quote:
<meta name="description" content=",,,Arabic Mambo - the dynamic portal engine and content management system" />
<meta name="keywords" content=",,,Arabic, arabic, mambo, Mambo" />
<meta name="Generator" content="Mambo - Copyright 2000 - 2004 Miro International Pty Ltd. All rights reserved." />
Your Description and Keywords are very generic and may be that's part of the problem? Unless the site is only Mambo for the Arabic community

An aside read this thread about the Generator tag ... http://forum.mamboserver.com/showthread.php?t=19983
