Question various mambo headaches.. (jscookmenu, access levels, user administration)

Hello people. If you have a chance, please look at the below demo. I
think I've reached the point where I need a fresh pair of eyes.
http://newhopefellowship.org/mambo/

1. Menu problems
**********************
I have been working on the menu scheme for the mambo template, and
encountered several problems after the upgrade:
1) for the horizontal menu at the top, I have no idea where the broken
image graphic (to the right of the titles) in the submenus is coming from. Because it is dynamically generated, looking at the source code doesn't seem to help.
2) for the vertical menu to the right side, I'm not sure why the left ident
is so deep. As a result, when a submenu is visible, the submenu
bullet is closer to the left than the menu item above it.
3) There was some hack I did last year to expand all the submenus to the right, sort of creating a site map, but I seem to have lost it.

The app used is jscookmenu v1.31, the latest version which I've downloaded from the developer's website.
the relevant files are, I think:
./JSCookmenu.js
./config.php
./index.php
./ThemeOffice/theme.css
./ThemeOffice/theme.js

I've also followed instructions on the peekfresh theme developer's website to upgrade the template from 4.5 to 4.5.1, without any visible improvements.

2. Migration problems
**********************
I'm not sure how I can move the mambo subdirectory contents to
root when everything is done.. there doesn't seem to be a
database export/import function. Any suggestions as to how to do this?

3. Access problems
**********************
Viewing the two articles on the front page require a login, even though I have set them to be publicly accessible articles. Any ideas as to why this is happening, and what I can do to fix this?

4. User administration problems
**********************
When trying to change the access levels of any user, i.e., from author to administrator, I get the error message "This email is already registered. If you have forgotten your password..". I'm sure I've messed something up, as otherwise the only way to edit a user is to delete and recreate them.

Thanks, all suggestions are welcome.

Thumbs up Re: various mambo headaches.. (jscookmenu, access levels, user administration)

Just a couple quick shots at a couple of your questions, from memory without looking at any code so I could easily be

jscook image problem .... I seem to remember that the image is called from the script that generates the menu so look in that code in the template. Unless you are using the module instead of the hardcoded version. Not sure about the module.

vertical menu on right.... would look in the css for that

expanding submenus.... think that is a parameter you can specify

That's all I have for now....

Smile Re: various mambo headaches.. (jscookmenu, access levels, user administration)

Hi Slixter. Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I really should have included the code from the jscookmenu script, so people could eyeball it, I'll do that tonight. I found it baffling however, as I did go over all the code, and image sources. Didn't understand where it was coming from.

As for hard-coded vs. module, I would guess it is the module I am using, since I downloaded that from the developer. I could very well be wrong...

Expanding the submenus by default on the right side does not seem to be included as a parameter, if it is included with the other parameters I've seen for the script. Also, I'm sure I saw the thread for it on this website last year.. just wish I could find the thread. I commented out a if - then loop, I vaguely remember.

Solved the issue where registration was required to view public articles, would still welcome any suggestions as to how to do the launch, or resolve user administration problems. I could do a redirect for the former, but am looking for a more permanent solution.
