Default Is Mambo what I need???

Hi everybody....

I'm doing a freelance job for some friends of mine... And I need a CMS system...

I've been searching the web for hours trying to find a CMS system that meets my requirements.. And I've ended up here...

But I'm not sure if Mambo is the right one for me...

So I have a few questions for all you Mambo users that I hope that you'll be kind enough to answer, so I might find out if Mambo is the right CMS system for me... I know that I might find the answers to some of my questions by reading all documentation about Mambo, but I'm in bit of a hurry, so I don't have time to read all about 10 different CMS systems, and some times I find that user expirences are much better that documentation.

1. Can I use my own design on a Mambo system??? Not only colors, but also, where the menu i located, where the news is, text styles and so on..

2. I'm making a webprojekt containing 4 sites, 2 different sites but both in 2 languages = 4 sistes. Can Mambo manage that or do I have to run 2 or 4 Mambo systesm?

3. On the sites theres gonna be a function called: Write us, where the users can write the admins, so the admins can answer the questions they recive and all users can read both question and answer. But the admins want to approve the questions before the appear on the site, so that they can avoid silly or stupid questions. Can Mambo do that?

4. Does Mambo support streaming video?

5. Can Mambo contain flash elements in some pages???

6. Can Mambo store data in XML files for import in flash files used on some pages??

7. Does Mambo contain a guestbook?

8. Does Mambo support some sort of image gallery?

9. Does Mambo support sub menus?

10. Does Mambo allow end-users to choose between 2 different design when using the site?

I think thats all for now... I know its alot, but with all these questions it quite hard to get a overview of all those CMS systems on the net...

Thank you...

Best regards,

Kristoffer Jensen

Yes, you can. Search around, there are templating tutorials available.

There are multilanguage components which can help to achieve what you described. MambelFish is one of them.

Yes, it can. Again, you'll have to use 3rd party component. MosPetition comes to mind here.

If you want multilanguage site don't go with Mambo.
It has the worst multilanguage implementation of I've ever seen.

Try one of the Typo3, opencms or magnolia.

You have come to the right place.

You too soon will enjoy the possibilities of Mambo. Mambo is a nice CMS which is lite and fast. It has endless options. It has got LOTS of free templates you will never get in any other CMS products.

It has got lots of free components , commerical components and modules. Guestbook and gallery can be components. Modules are nothing but small blocks generally reside in left , right or top positions of the site.

If you have any questions, please post here. Mambers are gentle and people here to help you.

Thank you,

Regards,

Vrajesh

We've just tried to do this with no success - iirc, media manager doesn't handle .xml filenames.

If anyone knows a workround or can contradict me, please do.
