Default How do I move mambo from one domain to another

Here is what I want to do:

I already have one site set up.(lots of stuff in the DB) I want to move the same exact site ( all PHPs and DB) to a different domain with different name. What is the easiest way to do that?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If all you want to do is move everything from one server to another, thats easy.
1.Backup all of your Data base {thats all your sql tables} and save that localy.I save it as text so i can go into phpmyadin.and browse for the file on my desktop to build the new tables in the new db,dont forget to create one first.
2.Then save your entire folder from the server it lives on now(All your Mambo php files and folders}.save that localy.
3.Load that to new server (directory).
4.Edit your config file to match your new server and db info.
And that should be it in a nut shell Good Luck !

I tried with Cpanel backup but after I edited the config, I couldn't open the site anymore. Should I use the same DB connect password?

The DB name, user, and password must be the ones you usde to set-up the new DB. Also make sure you set the absolute path in the config.

Yes when you dump the sql into the new db it will hold the same users and pw's as on the originnal site so that has to match with your config file,i assume you want to carry all users and pw's over, all your doing is copying all db tables and mambo files to a new server so you dont need to alter any thing except your new server path to the server in the config .
