Default Remository - Can't download files

Its really strange. Remository works like a charm. No errors ever. Well, aside from the fact that I can't upload any files... no matter. So I uploaded the files through ftp, straight into the /downloads/uploads directory that remository uses. Great!

Created a document for that file... seems that everything is perfect. But once I navigate to the file and click download ... I get redirected straight to my home page. WHAT?!

Tried turning off advanced SEF... Still no difference. This is strange...

Any ideas?

Are there spaces in the files that you uploaded? Your using remository not Docman right?

Yup. Remository.

DocMan doesn't work right either... It tries to download... but it never gets to actually saving the file to the hard drive...

No spaces in my files.

Sounds like a problem with permissions, verify that the user the webserver runs under can read and write to the upload directory. IRT the file you uploaded, your server might have a restrictive umask set, so verify the perms on that file too.

Same thing happens for me.

The following line shows up in my error log...

PHP Warning: fopen(/home/userid/public_html/components/com_remository/com_remository_settings.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/userid/public_html/administrator/components/com_remository/admin.remository.php on line 1306

I'm using Mambo 4.5.1a & Remository 2.03

I've got all com_remository directories & subdirectories (& download/upload directories) chmodded to 777.
Somebody tell me what's going on??
(PS--In case someone suggests it, changing 'anti-leech' doesn't help...)

Set the downloads folder to 776 or 777 - worked for me

Been there...done that... (see my above post)
Didn't do a thing.

The problems lies somewhere in how I have files stored outside of 'public_html'

PS--Nice moniker...ever read 1 Kings 18:18-40 ?
