Lightbulb 4.5.1RC1 Admin Modules

Well, I've been holding off posting about this to see if anyone else would notice. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't seem to get administrator modules to work.

I've setup a couple of modules with the following line altered:

PHP Code:
<mosinstall type="module" version="4.5.1" client="administrator"
Which as far as I can tell is the way backend modules are supposed to be installed.

So here's the wierd thing. After the module is installed an error message appears, "No files found to copy". I know I've specified the module file properly because the module is actually installed into the administrator/modules directory. Also, the admin module installer goes back to the site modules page after installing.

The module is then listed as a site module, and does not work in backend positioning. Even though the client is set to administrator (and I tried other settings just in case, but site and administrator are the only client types accepted), it still shows up as client Site.

Now unless I'm doing something completely wrong here, it looks as though the backend module installer is still not functional in 4.5.1RC1 or on the CVS?

Installable administrator modules were promoted as one of the features of 4.5.1RC1, admin templating was a great step. We need to be able to test these new features to make the most of them, admin templates need admin modules to be really functional.

Thanks for your time,

Damian

Yeah, get 4.5.1a, it has proper backend module handling.

When I posted that above, it wasn't quite enabled yet.

Cheers,

Damian

I have 4.5.1a, and I took mod_latest.xml to try to install my own cpanel module, but doesnt install into the admin module. Here is my xml:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<mosinstall type="module">
	<name>Unpublished News</name>
	<author>Ken Smith</author>
	<creationDate>Oct 2004</creationDate>
	<copyright>(C) 2000 - 2004 Miro International Pty Ltd</copyright>
	<license>http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html GNU/GPL</license>
	<authorEmail>kennethwsmith@yahoo.com</authorEmail>
	<authorUrl>www.mamboserver.com</authorUrl>
	<version>4.5.1a</version>
	<description>This module shows a list of the most recently created UNpublished Items.</description>
	<files>
		<filename module="mod_unpublished">mod_unpublished.php</filename>
	</files>
</mosinstall>
Any clue as to what I should add? There is a client_id that needs to be set, but I dont know what the XML tag should be. Is this is the docs, because I didnt find it.

Hello, that was a stupid post. I am obviously not putting the client type in there. Wow, I feel stupid.
