Hi there,
I'm having difficulty with my Mambo site.
I cannot login to the front end. I can enter my admin username and password, but the login doesn't take effect. The User Menu does not appear, and the login form remains.

Creating an account and retrieving a lost password, however, do work fine.

I really need the login functionality to work here, could someone maybe have a look, and see if you can help me with this. I am by no means a programmer, and I've been pulling what little hair I have out trying to fix this problem.

Oh, in case you need it:
I am running a machine with Win2K Professional, and trying to login using IE6 and / or NS6.2, neither of them work.

Okay, now I have different login issues.

I originally installed Mambo via Fantastico. That login problem was in the front end. I could login to the administrator end just fine, but was experiencing the dreaded IE6 login loop I've read so much about. I got fed up.

I installed Mambo 4.5.1 manually via FTP. I still have a login problem int he frontend, only this time instead of just going back to the login screen (no user menu displayed) I get this message:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I can't figue it out.

Can anybody help, please.
