I've had some issues with GPL and "commercial" code in relation to opening php statements.

<? and <?php are "supposedly" interchangable throughtout many components, modules and bots when calling php.

I've just spent hours trying to debug files because of this. I've got 3 components which are unusable because of this. I've changed everything from <? to <?php and am still getting errors.

So please ... pretty please can we have some tidying up before things are released on us poor unsuspecting users.
