I ran through the Joomla browser installation no problem, but after completing that and attempting to access the site, I got this error:



Warning: require_once(/includes/version.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/bibletru/public_html/tensite/mbo/includes/joomla.php on line 71

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/includes/version.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/bibletru/public_html/tensite/mbo/includes/joomla.php on line 71


I double checked and both /includes/version.php and includes/joomla.php exist....what's the deal???

I'm having the exact same problems... I successfully moved joomla on my remote server but trying to get it installed locally I'm getting the same error... in my case

Warning: require_once(/localhost/htdocs/GLlocal/includes/version.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\GLlocal\includes\joomla.php on line 71

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/localhost/htdocs/GLlocal/includes/version.php' (include_path='.;C:\Program Files\xampp\php\pear\') in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\GLlocal\includes\joomla.php on line 71

I've been at it for a few days without success...

I gave up, just installed Mambo instead...it worked

Oh, don't give up. I just got that error and found this with a google search on the error. version 1.0.11

what are your chmod settings i got this and it took me awhile to figure out this out ,you made need to check with your hoster as to the proper settings ie 755/666/777/707 ect; hope this helps

To avoid this error edit configuration.php and put the real absolute path ant line 6 : mosconfig_absolute_path
and at line 10

Thank you - Kolios! Your solution was a simple fix after I had changed the name of the folder that the Joomla installation resided in.
