Talking Upgrade Question & Help

Hi Guys,

I need your help. I want to upgrade my site from Mambo 4.5.2.3 to Joomla. I have installed my mambo site via fantastico and have tried to update it via that as i have done in the past, but it just seems to freeze when trying to update it. So the only option for me to do is either a full clean install or upgrade manually.

My mambo site is really big and i can't afford for it to go down if the upgrade doesn't work. I made a dump of my SQL database and did a clean install of Joolma via fantastico and then replaced the new DB with my Dumped DB but i just got lots and lots of errors even after i had corrected all the DB details.

I am a little nervous about doing this now so can anyone advise what is the best way for me to upgrade and for it to work first time.

Thanks
Jon

You did follow these instructions right?
http://help.joomla.org/content/view/818/132/
Did you run the db patch?
Did you update your configuration . php ?
Did you copy over any components/modules not part of default Joomla install - you will need to avoid errors with your old db.

You have a url to the test site?
