Default Offline Development

Hello all!

I was wondering how everyone else is doing offline development. My goal would be to have my laptop mirror my production site. So that I can see how changes effect my site on my laptop before I do them on my production server. Is there an easy way to do this?

I run WAMP5 on my laptop.

Thanks in advance!

The way I do it is with a program called UniServer. It is an apache 2 server with mysql, php, and cgi installed. I then added a ftp server plugin. Copied my mambo site to the localhost directory and develop on it.

Just do a google search for "uniserver" or "uniform server"

Very easy to use, no tech knowledge needed, if you have always on broadband, be sure to firewall your system.
