Default Mambo development tools and environment.

Hi there,

We are starting to develop some components and now we face the challenge of choosing a development platform.

We plan to use a CVS server, mysql, IIS and apache (for testing purposes), and we now have to choose the tools we will use on the developer's desktop

The options we have so far are:

Dreamweaver MX (and the grafx php plugin)
Dreamweaver MX 2004 (and the grafx php plugin)
Eclipse 3.0.1 with PHPeclipse 1.1.1 plug-in.

Could anyone give me some feedback about the development environment currently being used by your team, ideas about the ideal development environment, or any opinion about the options I mentioned above, so we can choose the best platform?

Regards,

Gregory

Unfortunately, a good debugger is hard to find. I think is one of the greatest shortfalls of PHP.

just me,

What do people use in linux?

I use bluefish/quanta/nvu for HTML but (at the moment) they don't cut the mustard, so I have to use Dreamweaver w/ wine

(cue Arnie - STOP WhINING!)

There's a nice list of Windows & Linux IDE's over @ http://www.linuxdocs.org/HOWTOs/PHP-HOWTO-9.html

I use PHP Designer 2005. So far it is an awsome IDE. However the documentation is lacking.
