Flame Shout It! version 1.2 Released!

Hi guys,

I've released latest version of Shout It! No bugs fixing, but lotsa enhancements upon popular request
  • Allow enable/disable display of IP Address
  • Auto Refresh: Admin able to set interval between refreshes.
  • Shouts ordering: Admin choose to display latest shout on top or at the bottom.
  • Configurable banned words: Ignore posting that contains banned words.
  • Multi-language support.

Head to Shout It! project at MOSForge.net to download the latest version

Happy shouting!

And it works great, already installed on my site
Two questions:
1. how/where do I change the background color
(white) behind the individual shouts?
2. how do I get the shouts to use the full width of the module?
I snooped around the code a bit, tried to mod', but no result so far..?

Thanks for this nice feature anyway!

Hi eyezberg

The shoutbox color scheme relies on your template's CSS. What you can do is change the following class in your CSS file:
  • .contentpane: Change the shout's overall background
  • .sectiontableentry1: Change the individual shout's background
  • .sectiontableentry2: Same as above; alternate color.

Future release might allows Admin to have complete control on the color scheme!

Regards,
dknight

Thanks for that, hadn't thought of the CSS, are these used by any other modules/menus/displays/whatever? I had already found the alternate ones (coz one was too dark) but missed the contentpane.
What about question N°2, as you have seen on my site (thx for shouting ), the shouts do not take the full width of the module?
As for admin color scheme control, I have no idea how modules are set up, but couldn't you add these 3 styles to the param's..?
cheers, joe

You can actually control the module width from the back-end Admin. There's an option called "width". Change the value there till it fits nicely to your template

Yes, those CSS classes are used by other C/M/Ts as well.

I'm receiving alot of feature requests since version 1.2 is released. Configuring colors is one of them. Keep tab on the development at Shout It! project @ MOSForge.net

I know about that, it is though not the whole modules width I want to adjust, but the content, that is, the actual shouts, which I'd like to be as wide as the module,
As you can see, there's quite some margin around them (left & right), and I have not changed anything except the colors..and the modules width.
Looking forward to future versions

Ahh, so you wanna remove the margin around the shouts? Maybe I'll get this done for the next release It's not possible at the moment without hacking the Shout It! code.

Yes, that's what I'd like.
Where do I hack the code, I looked at each php and couldn't find what to change, already removed any padding I saw, still the same, set table width to 100%, still the same, nothing in the css..??

We have not made any significant changes to our mambo installation and our "shout it" has recently taken a dive. Every time someone tries to post to it reads "You need to register before you can Shout!" even if they are logged in.

any one else have this problem?
