Default login hacked for CAPTCHA implementation

Hi,

i've made a simple and quick hack for integrate the login with the CAPTCHA algorithm.

The mambo release is the 4.5.2.3.

for testing this hack i remeber you to backup the original file and test this hack local

These file are hacked:

mod_login.php from modules dir
registration.php from components dir
registration.html.php from components dir
mambo.php from include dir
english.php from language dir

in addiction you have to copy the font file arial.tft in the com_componenst/com_registration dir
and you must have the GD2 library

These hack is made in a hurry and so the code is not the best,
there is not configuration intergration such us eneble/disable capability of the CAPTCHA for the administrtion for now and so on ...

please send feedback...

Or if you want to see an on-line working version go to my demo site at http://alikon.freelinuxhost.com/452/

Cool - I was looking for something like this!

Have to ask one question though - when I diff'ed your mambo.php and my mambo.php file, I saw some differences -- obviously there are differences at the login function, but I also saw things like:

location of class mosAbstractTasker ...
changes to emailcloaking function...
filters removed/changed in function check()
changes at function mosBindArrayToObject
changes at function mosRedirect()
function function mosArrayToInts is missing??

both files show version

Code:
* @version $Id: mambo.php,v 1.45 2005/02/16 17:06:08 eddieajau Exp $
so I don't understand the changes?? Are they fixes, improvements ...?

I have two more questions

- say you wanted just a gray-coloured background png image to be shown, with black font colouring, how can this be achieved?? This would fit better with our site layout, colour scheme etc.
- How can you lose the 'jitter' effect and just display the fonts 'normally' - to save space? On our upcoming site I need to have a small captcha code to fit a small login module so I would like to size things down a bit ...

Thanks for a great hack/addon
I've installed it already...

I thought 4.5.2.3 as well !? Especially weird coz the version ID of the mambo.php is the same in both?? It is definately 4.5.2.x (identified via the Admin backend gfx) -- sysinfo in help shows:

Code:
Mambo 4.5.2.3 Stable [ Titan Reassigned ] 15-June-2005 04:30 GMT
So why the differences?

Regs
