I hereby announce the initial release of myLANsite. myLANsite exists a long time but has been a standalone CMS in the past. Recently, I decided to rewrite the whole system as a set of components and modules for Mambo. The benefits out of this step are obvious to everybody using Mambo.

myLANsite currently consists of the following components:
com_mls_events: Handles events and participants
com_mls_teams: Users can create password protected teams and manage members
com_mls_seatmap: Fully dynamic creation of seatmap within seconds! Users can occupy a seat or reserve one for a mate for the next 24 hours
com_mls_tournament: Fully automated tournament system, currently supporting Double- and Single-Elimination mode
com_mls_catering: Define categories and items which can be ordered. Users can have virtual money (like a bank account) which they can use to pay for their orders and reduced the annoying handling of cash at the bar counter
com_mls_lang: A component with the language class which I use for all components and modules to display the static labels.

Some of these components depend on each other. The dependencies are listed during installation of each package (e.g. com_mls_tournaments depends on com_mls_teams, because you need teams to join multiplayer tournaments).

And it includes the following modules which can be installed optionally:
mod_mls_catering: Show accout balance, order status and alerts user when a new order is ready to pick up
mod_mls_evenstatus: graphical bar to show, how much places are free within an event, how many have already paid and how many are still pending.
mod_mls_eventmenu: Nice to have, if you run several Events simultaneously. It brings a two-layered automated menu which includes automatically links to the seatmap, guestlist, tournaments, comments, reviews and details for each event. It has many parameters to enable and disable links.

myLANsite currently comes in English, German and Dutch. Italian, Spanish and French will come shortly! All components and modules currently carry the version number 0.0.1. Well, to be honest, it should be 0.0.1a - because I consider it still alpha, because I haven't got enough test reports although there have no bugs been found so far.

This software hasn't been tested on lanparties because it is very new! However, the old System (myLANsite 1.6b) has been used by lot of lanparty organisation teams and some code (e.g. tournament brackets) is the same. At the moment, there are two teams testing the current version quite extensively and are reporting Feature Requests almost every day. So the Feature list will grow in the next weeks and months! And it can include your Features as well! Just drop me a line.
