Default Simpleboard 1.0.4 beta2 is o-u-t!

Delayed almost as Longhorn, more anticipated in suspense than Doom 3....

...the wait is over, the beast is unleashed!

Check the details on http://tsmf.jigsnet.com!

Major highlights include:
- removed support for com_userinfo
- added support for myPMS Pro
- added an option to show latest posts since last visit
- added an option to completely disable smileys (graphic emoticons)
- a number of changes in the posting screen. The size of the input area is once again based on pixels!
- moved the textarea setting to fontend tab
- fixed the problem with foreign characters in notification mails and RSS feeds
- removed boardcode enabled / html disabled lines from posting screen since they served no real purpose
- reverted to the old 1.0.2 behavior to automatically redirect after posting
- added Community Builder integration
- added an option to select where to pick avatar pictures from (sb, myPMS Pro or Community Builder)
- forum now displays in Opera as it does in other browsers
- introduced a new CSS class sb_catname for category names
- added message filtering through badwords component; unfinished and not very good at the moment due to badwords limitations but may serve some users
- flood control in not enforced any longer if user is editing a message, and not actually posting a new one
- fixed the preview problem with IE and mod_login, thanks to "jmiba"
- added template support for message view
- added HTML checks for subject, email and name fields -> fixes javascript vulnerabilities!
- removed "subscribe me" option from edit window since it never worked anyway..
- added Mambo version checks which enable SB to be installed on various Mambo versions
- link autoactivation (no need to use [url] bbcode for properly formatted addesses)
- major cleanup for XHTML compliancy

Test the new features and report the bugs/problems to tracker on mamboforge.

What about upgrading...just copy new files over old ones?

Hey, don't you read the tsmf home page? There is even an upgrade package for people who want to do it manually.

LOL...I was already on my way over. I just thought I would get it out because I know it will be asked at least a dozen times!

First impressions after manual upgrade:
-file upload via FTP went smoothly (lol..)
-as per instructions, open config, save
-reopen, check "integration" tab: cool, a link to create CB profile links! use that.. oups, I get kicked out of config and the rest of the changes are not saved!?
-go back, change settings, save
-now, on the Simpleboard Control Panel page, I have a problem: it still says:
Installed version: 1.0.4-Beta1 and there's still a link to "/index2.php?option=com_simpleboard&task=upgradetabl es" with the title upgrade db to v1.0.4 beta 1.. a bit confusing..
-check the frontend: ok here: Simpleboard Forum Component 1.0.4-Beta2-MU
-posting works, looks good... how to change the template..? to a traditional, profile-on-the-left layout..? no link, no hint, will do some research tomorrow..ok, I am tired: of course it's in the "frontend" config settings, "default" is da one..
(oups, BUG!? I went to "edit CSS", hit cancel, now I am presented with the forums/cats list? Dunno if this is expected behaviour, I would expect to go back to control panel..)
-profile forum settings work nicely, good job!
-in profile over posts, why is the Posts:1 bar/graphic so thick, as compared to the rank graphic? looks weird..

Anyway: it all works, looks good, so thanks a lot and GOOD NIGHT!
