Default is it possible to use a module as a component?

i seem to remember this being discussed before, but i dont remember any answers and i couldnt find any old messages, so sorry, and here it goes:

is it possible to get a module to appear in the main menu when a corresponding link is clicked? i was trying to wrap them, but that didnt seem to be doing the trick. any ideas short of just porting them over into components?

thanks

Make a link in the menu to a "typed content" and give this page the name of the module. You can place content on this page or leave it empty.

Go to "Manage Modules"
Yoy can put a module everywhere (position) except in "main". I put it in "top". And give as page the page yoy just made.
Don't forget to publish everything

yeah, but that still leaves you with a empty main...which isnt too much of a problem.

but i've been using dtree, and putting all of my menu items under seperators...erm...kinda hard to explain, just take a look: www.beyondtheend.2webh.com/Mambo

anyway, as a result i cant actually asign a module to a particular menu item since they are subitems to the seperators, which were probably never really designed to have subitems. Works pretty nicely with dtree though...

ah well, thanks for the advice anyway, i was just hoping there was another approach...

Using the method posted by coke, simply load a module position and then you will be able to control what modules appear in this 'homemade' component page.

Code:
 mosLoadModules ( "user1" );

Or simply hardcode the module you wish to display in this component.
Code:
 include_once ( "modules/mod.latest_news.php" );

The other method is to use the mambots mosaddphp or mosphp to load the module from the content itself. You input it into the wyswyig editor.
Read here for a discussion on this method:
