Your speaking my mind!
Your suggestions sum this n1ce component up.
Here is a complete guide for creating/editing/deleting such a registration list: 1. Creating a registration list Prerequisite:
You must have created a folder/category for the registration list, or at least assigned the Registration List to an existing folder/category.
1. In the folder in which you want to create your registration list, choose Create a new Registration List.
The template for creating a registration list appears.
2. Fill out the template.
The
following table provides help on the individual fields. Bear in mind that depending on the type of registration list you want to create, not all entries are possible.
General Information (Fields marked with an
* are required fields)
Title*: Enter a name for the registration list. The registration list appears under this name in the folder/category.
Details: Optional text field. Describe the purpose of the registration list, and provide any other relevant information. You can use HTML tags to change the font size and layout. If the description text exceeds three lines, a scroll bar appears to the right of this field.
Location*: Enter where the event will take place.
Contact person*: Enter your emailadress (default: administrator emailadress), or the emailadress of another person (and the person’s name). In the registration list, the system displays a link that enables the participants to contact you.
If you want to change the contact person, enter another emailadress an hyperlinked name of the registration list owner in the input field.
In order to select more than one person an “add onother contact person-button” should be available. (contact people limited to 5 people by default).
Type of list: registered/public/etc.
Date & Time Enter Date and Time (from, until – two separated fields).
Date of event*: Enter the date on which the event starts and finishes.
You can enter the dates in any format (for example, mm-dd-yyyy, dd.mm.yy, dd.mm, mm-dd, and so on). Note that if the date and month are less than 12 (for example, 01-02), the system automatically interprets this in the following order: <month, day, year>
Time of event*: Enter the time at which the event starts and finishes, or select the All day event option.
You can enter the time in any format (for example, 9am, 09:00, 9:00). The system interprets your entries automatically.
Time zone*: When you organize events with people in other time zones, the time zone that you select is the reference point for the event.
By default, the time zone that you selected in your mambo backend is entered here.
To change the entry, select a different time zone from the drop-down list.
Options Capacity*: Decide whether you wish to limit the registration list to a certain number of people.
• The default setting is unlimited.
• To limit the number of participants, deselect the Unlimited checkbox and enter the maximum number of participants that can attend the event in the input field that appears.
• A waiting list is created automatically when the number of participants exceeds the maximum amount specified.
Registration period*:Specify whether you want to limit the period in which participants can register for the event. If you limit the registration period, enter the relevant dates. Note that you can enter these dates in any format (such as mm-dd-yyyy, dd.mm.yy, dd.mm, mm-dd, and so on).
Individual user remarks: Specify whether you want to allow users to enter comments. The default setting is Yes.
Show all users: Specify whether you want participants to be able to view other participants in the list. The default setting is Yes.
Third-party registration: Specify whether you want participants to be able to register other participants. The default setting is Yes.
Date of deletion: Specify on which date you want the registration list to be deleted.
Note that you can enter the date in any format: mm-dd-yy, dd.mm.yy, dd.mm, mm-dd, and so on.
Notes:
If you leave a text field empty, neither the text field nor the section will appear in the registration list.
The way in which the form is displayed depends on the Browser application you are using. Therefore, fields may appear (for the date/time of event) that you do not require.
1. Choose Create List at the bottom of the form.
You have now created the registration list, and the new reg list appears in the folder/category.
2. To display the registration list, click the title.
3. The event of the registration list should be automatically integrated with a mambo event component (and also be deleted when deleting the reglist)
The following links/elements appear at the bottom of the registration list:
Create List (Saves the settings you have made for the registration list.)
Reset to default (Deletes the entries in all fields, and resets the radio buttons to the default settings.)
Cancel (Cancels the procedure for creating the registration list without saving your settings. )
Help (Calls help documentation)
a selection box (scrollable, for combining this event (of the reglist) with a mambo event component (i.e. Events v1.0 RC5 final Copyright © 2003-2004 by Eric Lamette, Dave McDonell , etc.))
2. Editing a registration list
When you have created a registration list, you may have to make subsequent changes to the list, for example if you want to extend the registration period.
1. Call up the registration list that you want to edit.
2. choose Edit.
The template for creating a registration list appears.
3. Make the necessary changes. For information on filling out the registration list, see the table above.
4. Choose Save list.
The system displays the edited registration list (preview function).
Note:
You can change the attributes and views of a folder at any time. These changes do not impact on how the system displays the registration list.
4. Deleting a registration list
When you create a registration list, you can specify on which date you want the list to be automatically deleted. However, you can also delete the list manually at any time.
1. Call up the registration list that you want to delete.
2. choose Delete.
The message Do you really want to delete this object? appears.
3. Choose OK.
The system deletes the registration list.
If you are interested, I would forward you a possible template (jpg) how the user frontend might look like. Contact me.
I hope we can find someone who wants to develop this component. I would help him with all my ideas.
ByeBye guys,
