Default Re: [week 51] Documentation - important or not?

Just my two bits worth...

Mibi does an fantastic job running the documentation project. The team (of which I am one) do our best to find time to contribute to the effort.

I found a few of the comments in this thread a little short sighted in view of the fact that this is an open source project, people write when they can and that they may not always be available to a given schedule.

What makes me wonder is the number of people willing to give advice, yet the lack of people willing to give time.

In the time it tacks to read this topic any one of you could have contibuted some real time to the writing of the documentation. And had you done so we could have it finished in a week.

I would urge those who really do care about the documentation to help out if they can it doesn't take much and it would be much needed help.

Default Re: [week 51] Documentation - important or not?

First of all thanks for your opinions. As a conclusion of this thread, we all agree, that a good documentation would be a great addition for Mambo. It would push Mambo further in comparisopn to other CMS.

So far, so good. But sadly the way to reach this goal is still unclear. Only a few people are willing to support the documentation project. So we can not await good solutions soon. And although the Wiki is currently choosen, it is also still unclear, if this will be a good format to keep the docs in.

Hopefully the DocTeam finds a way to gain from the posts you made and hopefully more people will join the prject soon.
