Question Mambo meets Glossword.

I use Glossword for my slang dictionary and have amassed 4,000 entries and definitions so far... entries always appreciated by the way (hint).

I know in theory Glossword and Mambo can be integrated to give a unified look to a site, but I have a few issues.

To begin with I have no idea how to use Mambo though, having tried it several times and got nowhere... but this is a secondary issue really... I can learn if I have to.

And what would make me 'have to' is if I could get the two programs together.

My concern is in trying to combine an already existing installation of Glossword with a new installation of Mambo. Dmitry's instructions seem to imply I have to install Mambo *first* and then install Glossword alongside using the Mambo database. Naturally, I don't want to go the through the pain of re-entering all the data if I don't have to.

Has anyone tried merging a preexisting installation of Glossword into Mambo? If so... how did it go?? I'd really appreciate some feedback on this.

Currently I'm using Xoops as the CMS but it's impossible to fully integrate the two programmes... so either Xoops goes... or Glossword goes.

Help?

Thanks - I'd missed that entirely!

Still... all it's done is make me nervous about trying to integrate the two systems. I think I'll wait awhile and look again. If I lose the database - as happened once before when the software failed, I'll be devastated .... all that work to re-enter?? <shudder>

In the meantime I'll carry on looking for another dictionary software programme.

Why not simply export your db contents, install Mambo, install Glosswords, import the dump?

Default Glossword developer (Dmitry N. Shilnikov) and Internet Fraud

I have been using Glossword since version 1.6.4 and I am a Mambo user. I have made similar posts in the past regarding Glossword’s integration to Mambo. Indeed, I find it a great script.

I would like however, to inform the community of an incident regarding the developer’s reliability and trustworthiness.

I paid Dmitry N. Shilnikov for glossword customization on March and since he received the money (360 USD) he did not reply to me. And I sent him dozens of emails.

You can read a detailed report in this page: http://www.translatum.gr/glossword/index.htm

Please contact me, if anyone knows the whereabouts of this person (he is very careful to hide his address) or you have experienced something similar.

afaton,

Dmitry's homepage is up and working since June 9th. The URL is still the same: http://glossword.info/.

I hope everything goes OK from now on.
