Istill had my old hosting account running which is very expensive €82 a year for 30mb.. Only now i got a letter then is was automatically renewed and if i want to stop the account i can have to write them a letter 2 months before the hosting ends do i have to take the hosting since 2 months before the contract ending seems really early to me

I'm going to agree with you there. There is no reason they would need more than 24 hours to cancel an account. 2 months written notice just means they are trying to rip people off.

Sorry Kelix but I have to disagree with that! In the Benelux (where Pixelsoul is from), it's normal when you sign a contract you need to cancel this contract 3 months before automatic renewal!

Write them now and tell them the date you wish to cancel. Then you will be covered!

I don't care how you cut it, two months prior notice is rather severe. I can't even imagine what reason could be given to actually require two months prior notice before renewal becomes automatic. It's not like they have to do two months worth of work to cancel your account.

If this is a law wherever this is being done, it's clearly a law in favor of business and made to the detriment of the consumer. Heck, sometimes folks don't even know two months in advance whether they will renew. Just seems a bit over the top to me.

A contract is a contract. He agreed to those terms when he signed up for hosting.

If you ask me I think its bullsh** that is just a rip off, I'd contact them by phone. Even though you have signed the contract when u registered it would be a problem.

Note to the wary, just about any ISP on earth will boot you as soon as they find out you are doing this. Be very sure your ISP is ok with it before starting.
