Thumbs down Ghost writers...

Well.

I'm devastated.

I have just learned, that there are at least two accounts here on Mambers that were created solely to respond to my posts. Two fake accounts. Created by members of the core development team.

Casper and George Fungus.

Go figure.

Well, this is the real me. I'd like to publically apologise to Damian for using an account to anonymously poach for information. I own that it was a wrong and basically deceitful thing to do. I won't happen again to you or any other.

Andrew Eddie

Thanks Andrew, your public apology is appreciated.

I doubt I'll be hearing anything about this from Robert, who has just deleted Casper's other post. He seems to be more of the mindset "delete it and forget it". Never mind if he has resorted to wrong and deceitful actions.

Lame move to make this topic sticky.

Flame Re: Ghost writers...

Look, I was understandably shocked and upset when I found out about this, in the heat of the moment I stuck it up using some of my points in the shop. That's what the sticky feature is for, and this forum is for:

"Need a place to rant, vent, spew? This is your place to b*tch at the injustice and general unfairness of the World."

So I thought it was appropriate. Unneccessary it might be. So I'll get someone to unstick it.

Your post was unneccessary, you could've pm'ed me.

Anyway, if anything is lame about this thread, it's "Casper's" inability to admit when he has done something wrong.

I'm sure if I'd stooped so low as to create fake accounts and stalked Robert, I'd be copping hell. I'm not the sh*t stirrer in this situation. If I was I'd be putting up the saved copies of his fake posts as a "new user to mambo" as well as everything from the debacle over his "find another community" comments which have been deleted from the official forums.

Just so you know.

Looks to me like you wanted to make sure every person who visits this forum sees your post. As such, it was nothing more than a personal attack on the development team. The original post was not lame. It was your effort to publicly humiliate core developers by making it sticky that made it lame. And for the record, making it sticky two days later was not "in the heat of the moment."

Angry Re: Ghost writers...

Al, if you've nothing to say about the original post, why even bother flaming me unless it was the only way you could find to flame me over the original post.

Also, it wasn't two days later as far as I can tell (maybe it's the different time zones), and I was very upset over this. When it became apparent that Robert definitely was not going to apologise or even admit to what he had done, I made it sticky. It was still in the heat of the moment for me. Still is, in fact. It's damn low behaviour.

Frankly I didn't expect you to step in here and create even more drama.

I was doing my best to step back from the events a month ago and let it go, when I found out about Robert pretending to be a new user just to stalk me and discover my "true motivations" I was incredibly p*ssed off.

Do you blame me for that? I felt betrayed by Andrew, who I'd had a long email conversation with before going back to the official forums and considered him a good guy (I still do, but I'm still not happy), and could not believe that Robert had sunk so low just because one new user (me) had a disagreement with him over his attitude.

As for your comment about a personal attack on the core development team. I felt personally attacked myself, especially when Robert tried it on again just a few days ago (which is how I initially found out about Casper) and I had hoped that all that crap over what had happened was over and done with.

I'm sick of being accused of having a personal vendetta against the core dev team, I'm passionate about Mambo and it's future and I don't keep my opinions to myself. This is great software with great potential, and I'm also here for the long haul. If I was just a pest "script-kiddie" I would have contributed nothing and I would have left by now. If you (or anyone reading this) believes that, you obviously haven't seen any of the positive contributions I have made. Whatever.

I have already asked Arthur to unstick this thread, as I have no power to do so. Do you need to extend this any further with lame posts of your own? Jeez.

There is no question about your passion and the fact that you have a lot to contribute to the Mambo cause.

Thought for the day...

Truth is a good thing!

In a large community such as this...in the interest progress...diplomacy is also a good thing.

Conclusion: Some things are better left un-said. (example...yes dear, that dress does make you look fat!)

Thanks for saying that Mark

Truth, honesty and diplomacy are very important in a community such as ours. Which is why I still have a lot of respect for Andrew, he was big enough to face the potential damage to his reputation by admitting to his actions and apologising for them. I think if anything that will give him a better image in the community.

As for the other party involved, who conducted his subversion without Andrew's knowledge, I expect more from the person who is the figurehead for Mambo. If anyone should be displaying truth and diplomacy it should be the diplomat.

Some things are better left unsaid, yes, and after this thread wraps up I won't be saying anything. I've had enough of the hypocrisy.

I won't be happy until the fat lady sings.

I'm not sure I understand. I made a one sentence comment about you making the original post sticky. How is that not about the original post?

From what I remember, you were suspected of being someone else who had a repuation for being a troublemaker who used multiple ghost accounts. There were probably some who tried baiting you to test your identity. Not the first time that has happened. Probably wont be the last. That doesn't mean you were being stalked.

But don't post a public statment in a public forum and expect that no one will respond. I had an opinion on the subject. So I posted my opinion.

OK. Sorry. I didn't realize my opinions were lame. I'll try and remember that. And I'll try and keep my posts down to a word or two instead of a whole sentence. I thought I was being brief and to the point. Aparrently I was wrong.
