Thumbs down Re: What is Lil Devil? ;)

Jeez, as I said there is no point arguing with devotees.

I have always stood on the freedom of speech platform, that's why I criticized Robert's insistence that anyone who did not agree with their decisions "find another community".

Now, that incident was the only sniping at the core team that has occurred on the official forum, all of my other posts were to do with Mambo development and licensing. Of course, all of my posts have been deleted now.

I did 'air my dirty laundry', as Tony put it, over here as it was the only place where I had the freedom of speech to speak my mind and resolve the issue for myself. Imagine how you'd feel if you were banned and censored without warning just for confronting the "head" of the community over a statement that could be obviously damaging to the community.

Now I don't want to hear any crap about my damaging the community, I am just one person and not a very significant one at that. Robert is central to this community, and he is letting the pressure of working on 4.6 get to him and venting his personal frustrations in the public tech-support forum. That is a shame.

If you think back to april, I also gave Arthur a bit of a hard time over his management of this forum and his censorship and banning of someone who was truly a pest. I was not alone in this. When it comes to the head of the project, however, it seems that anything goes.

I did not want to bring this up again, I really didn't, but it's hard to explain my position otherwise. Not that I expect you to understand.

I think these should be my final words on this subject.

Angry Re: What is Lil Devil? ;)

If we are a community why the hell can't we stick together as one and work on Mambo instead of working on annoying the **** out of each other. Come on guys stick together I'm sick of seeing this fighting between community members which has to do about something totally different that some of us don't even know what's going on and we just start conflicts for no apparent reason.

Exclamation Re: What is Lil Devil? ;)

I didn't want any conflict, I thought my post was just a bit of fun. I didn't expect to get banned and have all of my posts deleted.

This banning doesn't bother me so much, it's just that after being banned the first time I decided not to post over there again. I'm sure that some people would handle such a situation much worse and become true pests that hang around after being banned and cause trouble. I did not do that.

Anyways, this is all a storm in a teacup as far as I'm concerned, I just couldn't let TJay's comments go unanwsered.

I'll apologise right here and now for any inadvertent offence I may have caused Robert, and I truly mean that.

That's all.

You're a good guy and I think, no i know that you didn't mean anything bad about it. You speak your mind I do too. There is nothing wrong with that. IF someones has a problem with that they should read the rules and regulations of a democracy.

I still can't believe that all of my posts over there have been deleted. All of them, every single one. Now there are threads with replies to me, quoting my posts that have been erased. It's bizarre and incomprehensible behaviour.

I have saved copies of all of the threads that I posted to, but the point here is that this is unjustifiable censorship on a grand scale and no-one seems to think it's a problem. No wonder Mambo isn't a community management system, when the head of the dev team obviously cannot manage the community.

Look, I just think that a very small group of people is under a lot of pressure developing some excellent software that has a lot of potential. The Linux User Award probably compounded this pressure. I think that the official forums should be handled by a sub team so that Robert doesn't have to spend all of his time worrying about what people posting on those forums think or whatever. He said that in a post over there before the "find another community" comment.

I'm not a pest out to ruin the community or Robert or the core dev team's project or Mambo or anything. I'm just a concerned member of the community that has piped up at exactly the wrong time and I feel I have been used as a pressure relief valve for other dramas that were happening around the time things erupted and I got banned. The conflict between Phil and Robert for instance, which many claimed was going to destroy the community.

Sheesh.

I've noticed Phil lurking around here quite a bit lately, and I've also noticed that he hasn't been banned by Arthur. Nor have all of his posts been selectively deleted. Nor have the posts of that idiot that caused so much trouble here just after I found the Mambo community.

To anyone who has no idea what I am talking about and have just joined this community, I sincerely apologise for the melodrama.
