Hi SpeedyG,

Discussions about prices of commercial templates and commercial CMT in general is only allowed at the commercial forums at Mambers.com. We have rules in our community and you should follow them too. You have been banned for one day and I kindly ask you to follow the rules from now on. Thanks.

greetings,

Arthur Konze

If you refer to the little teasers John & I were having you should read the message. We were not having a discussion. We were doing a word game and playing and nothing else. If that is for the administrator a reason to ban me fine.....go ahead but where is your sense of humor? Pfff

Hi Micha,

I read not only the discussion but also the forum rules! Discussions (or word games or whatever) about commercial CMT's are ONLY allowed in the corresponding forums. We have very open discussions at Mambers.com and all moderators have orders (wow.......freedom of speech and moderating support highly appreciated? ) to let discussions flow. Except for commercial stuff! Please follow these rules from now on and we will have no problems.

greetings,

Arthur Konze

Hello Arthur,

I have problems with your reaction for the following reasons and I cannot appreciate them. Allow me to give you the reasons behind my remarks

So when Mambosolutions is making an offer in this section it is allowed: Quote from the same thread:

If anyone likes this template design/layout..i will create a custom version for you. Send me a photo, any logo or name you want on top...and paypal me $20 to templatesATmambosolutionsDOTcom and I will send you back the template, customized...in addtion you will have membership at www.mambosolutions.com to download all other members template of the month designs.

I can offer it such a low price because I have it down to a science on this layout... still need to work out some css stuff as i said earlier for placement of some mambo elements like polls, footer, banners etc. Prolly have to study a bit bit more or better yet maybe i will ask YTW

Best regards,
john

Quote nr. 2 from the same thread:
thanks, ( Gayle, Trijnie, Thunder, and all..) I am so glad everybody likes them now i will try to get them release ready, need to change some css layout things, and i see validation is a nightmare so i nee dto work on that. and i will release some as GPL, while others will be available through my website for $20 membership program. Hopefully I will have this ready soon.

Quote nr. 3 from the same thread:

Sorry, this $20 offer is only limited to this layout, I think thats a pretty fair offer considering you get a sweet template, you get it customized with your logo and photos..AND you get membership at my site. Don't you think thats a good deal?

And if I make one post with some references to this in a funny way I am getting banned? What kind of consistency is this in interpreting your so called rules? I quote your mail to me:” We have rules in our community and you should follow them too” .Different rules for your buddies??? Cannot follow your “logic” So why is John not banned? He made the commercial proposals/offers in this thread.....not me!!!! I only gave one reply related to his proposal and that even as a joke and you feel the need to ban me. Mibi’s post is only deleted, she is not banned.......................she was promoting the US$ 20 offer from John............(note do not think I want them both banned...however you banning me for giving a reply to a commercial offer is rather strange!)

Micha
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

No reply of course.............Funny kind of interpreting the rules in this forum (justice??) is this......Do we have different rules for different mambers here or do we just have a webmaster here who rules by his own law (= Konze-law?)

love to all of you!!!! (most likely:: Auf Wiedersehen/Goodbye)

SpeedyG,

There is actually a forum to discuss about commercial products. Konze is only asking you to post it in the right forum whether you are playing games or not.

Just my thought

I fully agree if this would be consistantly implemented. Question simple....why was I banned for "reacting on a commercial post " while others were placing the advert and were allowed to stay? That is what I call the injustice and a two-way society.

By the way you can find the thread here:

Bennie,

My post is not a personal attack on Mr. Konze. I do not know him and I do not want to know him. I am only surprised by the preferences and rulez he is implementing on a supposingly open and very large Mambo-community.....So I am more confused than obsessed....in contrary...if I see the core developers of Mambo whom I respect highly for all the efforts they are doing I rather have the feeling that the person who is "hosting" this site is rather thinking he owns this site and all of its content!........and is frustrated that he is not part of the core-team??? I do know that there is a very small and thin line in between some dark and grey area's of hosting and owning a site however I do believe that Mambers.com is only allowed to exist because the Mambo-community allows it to exist?? I mean every idiot can host a similar site if he or she is paying US$ 80/year to VBulletin so simply stated why is everybody relying on this?

So simply asked.....why is www.mamboserver.com not hosting a similar site and why did they downgraded the http://forum.mamboserver.com to its current level? We would not be on this site if 4 month's ago they would not have changed the approach? Also its a pitty that we are stuck with the extremely user unfriendly http://mosforge.net and other sites are now mushrooming such as www.mamboos.com (with all respect!!!!)

Once again, no personal attack at all but just a lot of BS related to controls and rulez.....

speedyG,
I understand that you were frustrated by being suspended. However, as the moderator for this forum, I feel I need to ask you and any others posting not to make assumptions and theories as to the motives of other community members. In my opinion, your previous post is dangerously close to flaming, or at the very least is flamebait.

This thread is not being censored or closed, because I believe in open discussions, even if I happen to disagree with the opinions discussed, and even though I am not fond of personal emails being posted in the forums. However, I will not permit this thread to degrade into any type of flaming. At the moment, no one who disagrees with you has posted here, but when they do, be sure to keep any responses civil so that this thread can remain open for discussion.

Consider this a warning to anyone responding to this thread, even if you disagree with speedyG for whatever reason, flames will not be permitted!

Also, everyone please remember that, although the official language of this forum is English, there are those for whom English is not a primary language, and their posts can easily be misinterpreted by others as being harsh when they are not meant that way. Please be mindfull of this language barrier!

Thank you,

SpeedyG, you don't seem to be happy with anything the Mambo commuity offer you, we don't force you to come here or force you to visit any other Mambo site, so if you don't like it here, you're free to find another place, but i think many people come to here because they like it here and they want something like Mambers.com to come to.

And speaking of rules we trying to make this place a pleasent one to visit and not to scare people away and make it user freindly as mush as we can and we don't get paid for it, but again we can't please everyone, and what is the big deal of you being banned for one day and other didn't , you are here now, so try to enjoy yourself instead of flaming everyone here.

Just my 2 c

Tony,

Be assured that my post is not meant to be a flame nor is it meant to be a flamebait. I also was not frustrated by being banned by the site's administrator but I am just very angry on the injustice what happened. I just consider it an unfair measurement as mentioned in my post and the only reason for copying the email was to clarify the statements and to make it clear. For the rest I do agree with you that it is basically totally improper to post personal emails in the forum however due to the basic innocent content I did not consider it harmful in any way in this case since it was not the purpose to harm anybody personally with it but only to expose the in my opinion injustice.

Next: I do withdraw my statement in my earlier reply to Bennie related to the owner of this site in perspective to the core-team. That was indeed improper.

Be informed accordingly.
