| Re: Macs rock Mambo TigraMenu can be used for commercial purposes, and works everywhere I tried it: http://www.softcomplex.com/products/tigra_menu/
There is a ton of better menu solutions than jscook out there, but this is all futile unless core dev team picks one up and implatnts it in Mambo admin |

| Re: Macs rock Mambo Riba,
Thanks, we'll play with this one and see if it meets our needs.
All other suggestions are welcome.
Maybe we'll find the perfect menu that core will like to implement. They are looking to upgrade the menu system. |

| Are there any others you can suggest, as I would like to expand my Display Menu range. This will allow people to have a choice as to what Menu system they can implement into their site through my modules.

Well, as they say, picture is worth a thousand words: | The menus have been hard wired to Safari in a basic configuration. If you add components, then the component menu will change. This will require that you add Cases to the menu case statement that I used.
Similarly, in your example the top menu is actually 2 menus in depth and therefore is over written, because the case statement in configured for a single depth menu. It should be very easy to change the Y parameter in the jscookmenu to fix it,

| Re: Macs rock Mambo Mibi and stingrey;
Actually a while ago I spent sime time researching the available options...just dug out my notes. TigraMenu is good, but probably not among the best options. I wanted the menu system to be cross-browser compatible, lightweight and fast. Here are some you might want to check, all of them conform to the requirements outlined above:
I particulary liked mygosuMenu - offers several menu styles under BSD license, works perfectly in all browsers I tried it with; check the details here: http://gosu.pl/software/mygosumenu.html
Another one worth checking is Menu system from Interakt, although I haven't figured out whether it is free or not: http://www.interakt.ro/products/overview_7.html
Hope it helps make you the right choice! |

What are the other navigators that Mac users use? And which navigators are the most popular with Mac? |

Apple Safari --83%
Internet Explorer --5%
Navigator --5%
All flavours of Mozilla -- 3%
OmniWeb --2%
Opera 8 -1%
iCab -1%
It has been my experience that most Mac users will use 2 or 3 browsers, but since Safari is the fastest browser on any platform, it remains the absolute first choice.

| Re: Macs rock Mambo Thanks Chris,
This is very helpful information. It gives me a clearer picture of the mac world, at least for a browser point of view. |

| Re: Macs rock Mambo Yes, vast majority os users use Safari, because it is bundled with the system, and actually not a bad browser at all. Unfortunately it has its quirks, but the good thing is that the development is striving to make is standards compliant, and all bugs are fixed in reasonable time. It is based on KHTML engine, so running Konqueror on Linux or KHTML based browser on Windows should allow you to check how the page looks in Safari (although as I understands the Safari team has made vast improvements to KHTML engine which might not be included on other platforms yet).
I think the next choice is one of the Gecko based solutions, and they basically do not differ from the ones running on other platforms.
Explorer will be fading away since it is not being developed any more.
There is also Opera which seems to be picking up pace since 7.5 came out.
I think it is safe to say that Safari is equivalent to IE in Mac world |
