We are not worthy oh great MJJ Mambo Webmaster!!!. (We are really but I thought if we buttered you ego up a bit you might throw us a few tips & tricks?)

Great stuff shows what mambo can do in professinal hands.

More seriously a small white paper on MJJSource/Mambo would go down a storm for mambo PR and give lots of encouragement to all those 1,000's of newbies and those that want to really get inside mambo's capabilities.

I dont think you will avoid being Mambo site of the Year!

prj, my ego is fine, doesn't need any buttering :p but thanks
I don't know if I can do a white paper on the current version really, I think a future version of the site will be set up in a different way, without altering the mambo core files which I've had to do a fair bit at the moment.

We've been lucky in two respects:
1. Mambo is really pretty easy to alter and extend by editing small parts of the core files. I'm now looking into doing the same things without changing the core.
2. We have a wonderful designer that also understands a bit of PHP and could help me implement the layout that he designed.

Maybe there's specific questions that you guys have that I could answer?

Hi sebastiaan,

I would appreciate if you shared a few tricks you have applied to your website. Here you have the list of categories and a short description under each. If you click on a category name, next page displays the full text of the category intro. How did you do that? Also, the thumbnails next to content items are a nice hack...

Thanks a lot.

pxd: I believe this is standard functionality in Mambo.. Just set up a few categories with a description in a certain section. Then just call the section and you should see something similar.

ChicoMendez: what business do you have in our admin dir?
It's a .htaccess protection utilizing a .htpasswd file to control access to this directory. Specific information on how to secure your admin back-end can be found in this Mamboforge project: http://mamboforge.net/projects/mossecurity/

You've done your research I must say. I still agree with many here that you guys have a pretty damn good site right now. In my opinion the best. The way you utilize Flash and Mambo is just outstanding.

I have been fiddeling around mambo making changes to it to give it an unique look. As you've said it really isn't that hard. It's like adding pieces to the puzzle and mixing it up.

Also, I'd like to ask if you would be a member of this community regularly so that we can all learn from each other. May be even write a few hacks and release them

PS: "Thriller" Site!!
