View Full Version : myPMS II - User Notification?
I have installed myPMS II on my site so that users can message each other and such. However, is there a way that users can get a simple, flashing mail icon, or a hilighted message url instead of plain. As it appears now, users have to click their message box in order to see if there are any new messages. No, the solution is not an email notification, everyone hates junk emails, I know I do! So, if anyone knows of anything to get this working I would be very appreciative. This is something that is definitely needed.
There is an accompanying module that you can install that will show the number of messages waiting in the inbox for each user. You can probably find it in the file base on www.mamboserver.com.
You need http://www.mamboportal.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=27&func=fileinfo&parent=folder&filecatid=394
found that module about an hour ago, trying it out now. Cheers, Jacob
SWEEET! Is there a way for the user to turn off email notification?
Hi I saw one site using another module which was even better but I don't know the name of it. Maybe you know it...
You could see the name of the logged on user and you see a small envelop behind this name, clicking on it openend MYPMS and you could send a name directly.
Anybody knowing the name of this module/component/... ?
You might be thinking of the uddeIM component+module, available from a couple of sites, for example http://www.mamboforge.net/projects/uddeim or mamboos.de
It displays an animated logo when a user gets a new mail, along with the first words of the messages and who it is from.
Nope it isn't this one. But I'll give it a look. You can find what I mean on this site (www.dejeugdonline.nl)
You'll have to create an account to see what I mean.
