I have just found a site called http://www.thumbshots.org/ The site offers free thumbnail shots of sites. Is there any way that this could be included in the Links component?

Have you read the whole article? thumbnails are only offered and shown of sites which are listed in the dmoz.org directory ...

I know that you can only show thumbs that are in the Dmoz directory. As an editor for the Dmoz directory I also understand the process.

Perhaps a diferent component all together would be a better option.

Not sure if you already know, but there is also a Mambo Component that allows you to add the DMOZ directory to a mambo site:

Thank you for the info about the dmoz component. I was already aware of that, but perhaps others didn't know.

What I want is the ability to have a thumbnail shot of a site automatically included with any links that I list. Yes I could take the time the make one everytime a link is added, but the default link component does not allow for any code to be added.

Just to make things clear, I was not advertising for another site. How can I explain what I need without including the address? There is a commercial version of the site that I mentioned, but did not suggest.

They also have a script(for free) for larger sites and developers.

Why is it that the Mambo community is soo quick to accuse and point fingers (mic)?

I was actually trying to build a Mambo site and integrate the thumbnails of Mambo sites.

It sounds like a great idea, to me. I don't understand the problem? I would love to enhance the web links area in this manner, myself.
