phpShop Q (author not providing support)

I've asked this question over at the www.mambo-phpshot.net forum, and I've written the author twice now with no response.

Here's what I posted over there:

I put together a site for a client based on 4.5 1.0.9 based on phpShop 1.1.. Everything seems to work except when registering as a new user on the main checkout page, nothing at all happens. I've tested in Firefox and IE to no avail.

Any ideas?

I've also upgraded to the patched version of 1.1a. I've tried variations of settings and such, can't figure it out. Any help / leads / suggestions would be most greatly appreciated.

what is "the main checkout page"?

did you set file permissions right?

do you receive any error messages?

does the data in the registration form get into your database?
