View Full Version : upgrading akobook
I cant find any support docs for ako book and I was wondering how do I upgrade from 3.02 to the newly released 3.1????
anyone there who can help ?
i need this too !
Yes me too,
I tried a fresh install with a restore of the database parts for akobook, but no result. Ok i had not so many entry's but for the next update it will be fine if there is a good sloluition for it. :)
Just overwrite manually your files.
Nice try but no results
same problem at my website
Version: 3.0 beta 2 > Version 3.1
Only overwriting the AkoBook files not work propertly.
The old version and the old Admintool is on the screen.
ich habe immernoch auf zwei Doms das Alte AKOBook würde das gerne Updaten aber mit einfach überschreiben gehts ned wirklich :-)
Also bitte Supportet mich mal :-)
Arthur!! Heeelllppppp!
Thanks in advance for your help on this one, I KNOW we can count on you.
solved the same problem by exporting all AKOBOOK data to a file, uninstalling and installing new version of AkoBook component and then all data have been inserted into the mos_akobook table back ... I understand that it not the easiest way to do that - but I did not find any other :)
Back to this question.
I neeed to do a restore of my akobook entries to a fresh installation of mambo (I have the latest akobook on the fresh installation but I'm trying to move data from an earlier version akobook 3.1)
The system will not add the akobook entries when I use the mambo restore function. I'm guessing it cant read the dump instructions so can someone please tell me what needs to be changed in the sql backup for it to restore the entries into the site.
Failing that, I am open to adding them all back in manually but I need to know how to reconfigure the dates for them all.
um......no response - I guess akobook is dead.
I'm starting to think a basic website with a few add on scripts will be a lot easier and less stressful than trying to maintain a mambo site with all the changes going on atm
Thanks anyway :)
