What does it mean???

Hi,
when I try to change just a word in the index.php file of the template, on the top of each page some letters are diplayed: they are
"; ?>
What does it means?
Do you know how can I solve the problems?

Get in your templates index.php and look up the ' "; ?> ' in the head-tag, delete it, ready, problem fixed!
