Band / Musician Profiles *!need help!*

Hey, I'm working on producing some band / musician profiles for my web site & the mambo community. I'm currently learning how to use php, so I'm not very good at building components yet. It would be nice to get some help. I have started a project @ mosforge & am looking for people to be a part of the project. I would like to have a nice advanced component sometime in the future. For now even a hacked component would work. Like maybe taking something like Party Staff and turning it into some kind of band profiles. I'd like the band / musician profiles to include: Atleast one picture, website link, bio, contact, location, song uploads w/ lo-fi & hi-fi streams & mp3 downloads, band members/instruments played, and etc. I'd also like to have categories for the different bands to be able to maybe put it by genre or just by location or etc.

I fiddled around with Artist Directory, and it has some good points to it, but it looks like only the admin can add artists, songs, shows, and etc... I want all users to be able to create band profiles. I also want it seperate from user profiles.
