I have installed AkoGallery V2.1 beta 2 in Mambo 4.5 Stable-1.0.7. In the administrator zone, I can upload pictures, create categories, edit settings, etc... All this parametres works perfectly (I have GD2 for the Thumbnail Creator)

But when I go to the frontpage, I can see the categories, but no the pictures. The message (0 Pictures) appear always in each category. (After uploading the images, I have selected one of them to each category)

Does anyperson know if this problem is normal? Thanks, Laura

I use ako and have had great success. Looking forward to ako3. I have several hundred pics (boisevenue.com) Are you able to upload via the administrator interface? If you go into your site via ftp do you see your uploaded pics? I know on my site I had to add a dir called upload in the www/comp/com_ako.. and then things started working. But then I unloaded regular ako and got ako with the beta batch uploader and the upload dir was gone and now I am able to batch upload and single upload just fine. If this doesn't help email me via the site...if someone else can help you quicker then cool. I'm a baby with MOS, but I am hooked!

you need to add the pictures @ "view pictures -> new"

there you have to add every pic by hand to the database.

or load my mod with ftp upload and auto db adding or grab the batch upload from zip file (dunno where to get it nowadays)

I installed AkoGallery V2.1 beta 2 too.
When i select picture from thumbnail in front page i get this error.


Query failed with error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY id DESC' at line 1.


My host configuration:

DATA Base version: 4.0.18-standard
PHP version: 4.3.4
Web server: Apache/1.3.29 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.3.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2634 mod_ssl/2.8.16 OpenSSL/0.9.7a

hmmmm did you change something in the ako code?

never heard of that problem. seems like the syntax of the whole sql statement to load the picture has got a wrong parameter or something.

its not really a hosting problem or wrong database or something.. "just" wrong statement.

I have the same problem

Akogallery(latest release from mamboportal.com)

- installed fine
- uploading fine
- I can see the images in the folder through ftp
- go to view images->new
- in drop-down menus I see "select image", "select thumbnail" but there is nothing else there.

on the front end shows (0 pictures)

think the thumbnail and picture path is set wrong

check akogallery -> settings

You will be bether off with AkoGall Batch version.It work's like a charm and you don't have to add one by one.I usualy upload up to 200pics at once .and the component place and publish them automaticly.!

Remember batch upload work's like this.

at you comp place pics in folder >zip the folder>upload zip.!

Laura didn't mention she click the publish button, so i think she could have the same problem that i have (maybe i'm wrong hehe)

The problem is there is no publish button in each row of the View Pictures section.

Solution: Click the checkbox in each row and then clic the big publish button in the buttons bar.

Wehre can I find the Batch Upload Addon for AkoGallery?

well I have akogallery 2.5b.
I have publish button, I have publish icon on each row but when i press the icon either select the image and press the publish button I get the message
"Select an item to publish"
