Docman auto-maintainer hack

Anyone know an easy way to make Docman automatically set the maintainer of a file to the username of the person uploading (at the time of upload)? This would make the document management functions more logical in my opinion and save me having to personally set the maintainer of each file from the backend.

Oh, and if anyone knows how to let the maintainer delete a file from the front-end then that'd be nice too! ;)
