View Full Version : Newsfeed (RSS) in the middle?

Hi,

with the build in newsfeeds-module I can publish a rss-feed eg. left or right of my page.

Is it possible that the newsfeed is displayed in the middle of the page?

E.g. make a new main menu item and when a user clicks it he gets the rss-newsfeed in the middle of the page (like a "normal" content page)?

Simply create a link, to newsfeeds component in your main menu :daisy:

Too simple

But....

When I have more than one newsfeed published the newsfeeds on the site are shown ALL in one page.

How can I browse directly to only ONE newsfeed?
(so that I can make links in the main menu... one link for one newsfeed in the middle)

Thanks

dont know if you have sorted this problem yet but here is one answer:

firstly make a news feed link as normal, browse to it and copy the url ie: index.php?option=com_newsfeeds&task=view&feedid=22&Itemid=37

then make a new URL link menu item using the copied URL and there you have it. A news feed opening in the middle from a menu link.

I hope that was clear enough?

Well, I have found out a roundabout way of doing this. But it works! And it is flawless!!

You want to see?

If this is what you are interested in, I will explain it here.

I can see this
To get the updated pages, simply click on any menu item of your interest under 'Medical News' on the top navigation buttons.
...but I can't see any menu item 'Medical News'...!?

Well, there is a menu on top. Is your javascript enabled?

Hehe, never mind. It is a lesson for me to learn that the menu was not easily seen, so not very useful!

I am making a 'complate' for mambo that will have this function of having RSS feeds as links within mambo. I will post it the moment I finish it.

Complate because it will be sort of a combination between a component and a template :)
