Let me preface by saying I've really appreciated both Phil and Arthur's work. I've sent money to both of them -- Phil for a component, Arthur through donations. And I've given back to the community in small ways with a some free code snips and a mambot...
_Everybody_, Castley included needs to grow up a bit and act like business people. I don't know if talent and short tempers or ego go hand in hand, but it's annoying the way things have gotten out of control the last few months over truly stupid issues.
Why start proclaiming MosForge "The Biggest in the World" when you know it's going to start a pissing match?
Why blow your fuse when someone else develops a component like yours?
I wish I could mail some prozac out to all these smart, talented people. Then again, professional companies have the ability to keep the geniuses appeased and focused on code, while the business people keep a pleasant public face on things. I'm sure there's no lack of drama behind the scenes at Interwoven, etc.
We need Arthur. We need Phil. We need Robert and all the core guys. And we need to stop looking like a bunch of high school kids playing head games with each other. |
