Yes, I followed these instructions but unfortunately dthey don't seem to work.

A weird thing is that I get a notice (I have these turned on on my development server) from the pcltar.php file which apparently is associated with TAR file operations. I don't have a .TAR file, but they are no mentioned in the manual at all.
